Among the leading lights of Australian businesses

In the judge’s own words, it was a photo finish.

Last week our leadership team of Diana Foye and Lyndal Kennedy gowned-up for the gala dinner and announcement of the winners of the 2019 NSW Telstra Business Awards.

After months of preparing entries, interviews with panel experts and waiting, the big day rolled around where Foye Legal was one of 25 NSW finalists, drawn from 21,000 businesses across Australia vying for the accolade of being among the highest achievers in Australian business.

The eventual winner of the Emerging and Energised category was Sonder, a personal safety monitoring and response company. Congratulations to them!

There was Foye Legal, a boutique law firm from Wollongong, up against some of Australia’s best and most ground-breaking companies who are doing incredible things in using technology to help people stay safe, supporting people experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, and more.

To put it in perspective, nominees have a 0.08% chance to be a finalist, so just being on that stage was a massive achievement for Foye Legal.

Foye Legal CEO and Chief Lawyer Diana Foye said participating in the awards process has opened doors and will continue to create lasting opportunities for the firm and, more importantly, YOU our clients.

“I can’t thank my team enough for the dedication and hard work that has gone into making Foye Legal the success it continues to be.

Foye Legal has demonstrated it is ‘emerging and energised’. In just a few short years it has grown to be a full-service law firm, and recently moved to larger offices in Wollongong.

To make it to the finals, entrants had to produce comprehensive evidence of their business success across seven criteria: strategy and vision; customers and marketing; operations; people and culture; social responsibility; financial acumen; and, innovation and technology.

Ms Foye said it was sticking to the core mission of changing the way people access law that has seen the firm flourish.

“Our empathy for the people we serve makes us better lawyers and sets in stone the core idea that a client is not just another ‘case’, they are people who are experiencing the major, and often stressful, life events that afflict us all at some point,” Ms Foye said.

“Being nominated and recognised as a finalist in the Telstra Business Awards is very much recognition of the tireless work and dedication of the team at Foye Legal.

“No business can grow and do good in the community it serves without a passionate and dedicated team behind it, and I’m extremely privileged to have a wonderful team at Foye Legal.”
